The purpose of this course is to provide you with core knowledge and understanding of characteristics, terms and features of products in the investments class of business (which includes the Retail Pension Benefits sub-class), including typical fee structures, charges and other risks associated with investing, purchasing or transacting in these products. This course will also provide knowledge of legislation impacting investment products and the tax implications of these products.

This knowledge is essential when assessing different product options, selecting suitable investment portfolios and providing advice to clients on investment products.

In this course, we will build on the knowledge of Economic and Investment Overview course (such as the impact of applicable economic and environmental factors including business cycle, inflation, monetary and fiscal policy), as well as the Financial Services Overview (such as the main legislative and regulatory environment, role-players and participants in the financial planning investment industry, and applicable codes of conduct).
